Live life with passion.
I took this photo at the 2008 Christmas Pageant and really love the expression of freedom and fun. Nice.
Welcome to our summernews08. Thanks again for your valued support as we're out there kicking goals for many clients and naturally the Murray River. Discover Murray has been growing well despite the challenges of perception. There's lots of water in the Murray for a great Aussie experience and holiday. We launched our Discover Murray Trail in late 2007. It's proving to be a valuable tourism guide and have distributed around 50,000 Trails to date. We're also working with several visitor centers and have permanent displays are in Mannum, Morgan, Renmark and Mildura. We're now the world's largest online community and information guide for the Murray River. Discover Murray is now at : http://www.murrayriver.com.au. We'll continue to help make a positive difference for Murray and it's communities.

Here's some simple tips to have impact on your brand and website
Think about what your visitor responds to...not you. Subconscious thoughts are a powerful decision influencer. Customers make choices within 5 seconds based on visual appeal.
- Colours in your image: Does it connect with the market and your message
- Emotion is powerful: Youthful, heritage, corporate, fun. Mood directly influences connection with the market
- Make it easy: Does you website make choice easy, clean and no fuss. Can the visitor find what they want?
- Use appropriate images: Excellent photos will always make a better impression. Invest in good business images.
- What’s your message? Promote to get a result or action. Is the site aiming to increase purchases, offers, entertainment etc.
- Easy to use navigation: Visitors want to feel they have control. Easy navigation and choice will encourage longer visits
- Consistency builds trust: No surprises. Same consistent feel adds to intergity and visitor comfort.
A good strategy will save you money and time in the long run. We are also working with a Search Engine Optiminisation specialist (SEO) to give customers the online marketing edge. Good design will significantly influence purchase decitions, however there are strategies you can adopt to give yourself significant competitive advantage in your marketing.

Seed Distributors website
The development of the Seed Distributors website has been a great opportunity to connect with their target markets. You can measure outcomes, ie sales, profits, marketshare, sign ups, brand trust etc. When your website connects with your marketplace you naturally become your customers number one provider. PS Marion, River Dock Museum and Mannum Visitor Information Centre
Working with the Mannum Museum and Visitor Information Centre has been great for Design Train. The PS Marion www.psmarion.com is a wonderful Australian paddle steamer built in 1897. The objective of the new website was to really convey the special experience the PS Marion gives each passenger. The website lends itself to other mediums in future. It currently has a self manageable Volunteer's Gallery. We're aiming to also work with local TAFE and High Schools along the river who want to have a say in their local tourism marketing using PS Marion as the subject. We also developed a new brochure to connect the image of the PS Marion created online for the museum and visitor centre. Design Train also assisted in the new design and fit out of the Museum entrance and Visitor Information Centre. We've really focused on improving the brand and appeal of Mannum as a tourism destination. Mannum is the Birthplace of the Australian Paddle Steamer. I'd suggest if you want really unique experience, take a ride on the PS Marion for a week. It's fantastic, thanks Ailis, Allison, Jen the Board and everyone who's assisted in the developing the Museum and VIC. Visit : psmarion.com

Morgan, South Australia
Being able to come up with really functional and emotionally charged designs takes time. I find my passion to help make a difference allows me to really extract the essense of a town and region. Morgan is a fantastic part of Australia's culture and history. We held a branding seminar with the local businesses and discussed the value of tourism and the benefits it can bring for the community. We then worked to highlight key assets in the town and region and really delivered the experience online with a long term view. Morgan is also working in partnership with Cadell who have a completely different experience...but only 12km away. Thank you to the Morgan Community Development and Tourism Association and the community of Morgan and Cadell, I'm looking forward to helping create a positive future through great marketing of their town and region. Morgan & Cadell is also part of the Discover Murray Trail and we all work together with other towns along the Murray to promote each other. This allows them to all share the market and enhance the Murray River experience for the visitor. I think the Murray is the Australia's best experience! but I'm bias.
